Mixed Media

My mixed media pieces start on matte boards gessoed with found house paint. Followed by emotion, music, and a sense of humor when juxtaposing childlike drawings next to painterly strokes of acrylic. I enjoy playing with color, humor, symbols and images connotative of the hero’s journey, childhood, and self exploration. Some are personal symbols carved out over the years; for instance the paper sailor hat I now use to show the fool’s journey and personal development.
